We met our sweet friends Lauren and Elise for breakfast yesterday morning, but had a free afternoon past that... so, after seeing Meredith's "making cookies Mondays" idea, I decided we'd do just that. :)
<----- How's that for a stellar pic?!? I love it.
I'd pinned these heart-shaped shortbread cookies a long while ago and because I'm obsessed with Valentine's and all things pink, I decided to go for it and pretend that it's not too early to start busting out all things pink / red / hearts. Don't judge.

However, I soon realized three things:
1.) I picked a much too tedious recipe to make.
2.) Jackson isn't quite ready to "help" in the kitchen. Ha!
3.) Gel food coloring doesn't mess around.
We had fun nonetheless and Jackson enjoyed eating the cookies and chasing our dogs with spatulas. So, there's always that. Here are a few photos of our cookie extravaganza yesterday. Hope you're having a fabulous week!
Although cute, these shortbread cookies weren't a big hit. Cason and I both agreed they were kind of bland [which shortbread cookies aren't super sweet, so that was probably my fault for picking these to make]. We might try again next week.

They turned out very cute! Looks like fun too.
Cowboy boots and diapers! I die! I looked for boots for O at Christmas but smallest size I found was a 4.5?! Looks like so much fun!!
So fun!! Those cookies did turn out cute but I can see how they wouldn't have a lot of flavor. I think L wouldn't have been a big help in the kitchen had we tackled this task either!!
OMG - chasing the dogs with spatulas. Never a dull day in your house! I love it! The cookies turned out adorable.
what a cutie!! little ones in diapers are my fave!! the cookies are so cute.
