Game changers.

{In case you missed it, check out my post from last night on "adding a little bit of love to your home"}.

I ran out of my favorite dry shampoo yesterday and after ordering more (in bulk) right away, I realized how much easier it makes my life.  Do you have any products like that?  Ones that you'd freak out over if they were discontinued?  Two things come to mind and fit into that category for me, so I thought I'd share....maybe they'll be game changers for you, too!

Batiste Tropical Dry Shampoo {the 3rd love of my life}
A few of my friends have started using this lately as well and are big fans, s it's not just me!  I had my hair cut and colored last week and my hair stylist kept commenting on how great my hair smelled (it's a tropical, coconut-y smell.....so good!).  I can go three days in between washes if I use this every day.  It may not look perfect on the third day, but it's fine and NOT an oily looking mess like it would be without it (I used to have to wash my hair daily....which is so not mom-friendly).  It keeps oil at bay, gives my fine hair some extra body and the scent is just perfect - not overwhelming, just light and tropical smelling.  Some days I close my eyes after using it and pretend I'm laying out on a gorgeous beach with a frozen margarita in hand.  Ha!!   If you try it out, let me know what you think.  I swear by it.

 Vital Baby Toddler Straw Cup  {has saved my sanity}
For those of you with toddlers, or a soon-to-be toddler, order one of these NOW.  I promise you we've spend $200 in the past 6 months on mother freaking sippy cups.  Up until I discovered these, which I'm quite sure were heaven sent, sippy cups were my arch nemisis.  99.9% of them leak.  Or break.  Or Jackson refuses to use it.  Or they are a solid color and you have to open it to see how much liquid is left.  Or there are 17 different parts.  You get the picture.  Finding the right sippy cup has been an ordeal for us.  Jackson prefers [as in refuses to use anything else] drinking from a straw.  These are absolutely perfect...  they do not leak, they are see-through, so you know how  much of the drink is left, they are easy to clean in the dishwasher.  And I repeat THEY DO NOT LEAK.  Sold!!!  They come in pink, orange and blue. :)

If the two "game changers" I just shared don't scream "total mom", I don't know what does.  Ha!

Thanks for the cup recommendation!! I have SO many cups that just haven't worked for us. Reid likes straws the best but the two cups we're mainly using right now aren't clear- and you understand the issue there. I will definitely try this kind!

Oh goodness, thanks for the insight into the sippy cup! Greyson only uses straw sippys and the one we use that works best does leak and the straw doesn't reach the bottom. Does Jackson have any issues getting all of the liquid from the bottom or does the straw touch the bottom of the cup?

I'm so happy to see great recommendations for dry shampoo AND sippy cups. I've been trying to find a brand I like of each of these in the past month or two. I'm using the Avenoo dry shampoo right now and I like it, but I am up to trying out other brands until I find the right one.

Do they sell it in stores? Target?

Ahh, dry shampoo. I bought some a long time ago but wasn't sold. In the last month or so I've been trying to stretch my hair washing out by another day and it's, like you said, a vital part of that process.

As far as sippy cups go, I was happy with our tall straw cups until they randomly starting leaking about 2 weeks ago. I cannot, for the life of me, figure out where they are leaking from! Maybe I'll have to convert to the vital baby cups.

Happy Wednesday friend!!

How do I not already have THAY dry shampoo? I've tried every other brand. Ordering up now.

I am SO excited to have you all to myself for a few days in March. Can't wait!!! You're the best ever.

Since becoming a new mama a couple months ago, the days of everyday hair washing (let alone showering) are long gone. I am going to have to try that dry shampoo! I have been using one by treseme but, meh, it's not really doing much for me. Can't wait to smell like a day at the beach :)

You just read my mind! I am in desperate need of some great dry shampoo. I haven't found one I really like yet, and like you said.. motherhood is NOT conducive to washing every day! And we have already gone through 3 different brands of sippy cups in 9 months, excited to order this one! Thanks for sharing, friend!!!
