this weekend and here lately.

Before I ramble about our weekend, just a reminder to check out all of the adorable Easter baskets that everyone has shared via the "Easter basket blog hop".  I think there are 10 baskets so far and all of them are so cute, creative and different....lots of great ideas!  Just click on the Easter egg logo right over there to link-up or browse around!

Now, on to recapping our weekend........ we had so much fun and stayed busy all day, every day.  I was really kind of sad for it to be over.... we were on the go the whole time, but it was so worth it.  Here's a quick recap via my iPhone [not even sure who I was pre-iPhone days]:

Let's start with Thursday....which is almost the weekend, but not really at all! Just go with it, deal?  We met our friends Lauren and Elise at the park.  Elise and J had so much fun chasing each other around for over an hour.  Lauren and I caught up, chatting on the go the best we could while coraling our minis. ;)  Aren't they adorable?  Can I freeze time?  Also worth noting -- Lauren, Elise's mom, is 36 weeks pregnant and makes it look easy... can't wait to meet baby girl #2!!

We came home and for some crazy reason I thought it would be fun to make 6 mini banana nut loaves and bedazzle them with all sorts of toppings.  And how do you like our stovetop sans knobs?  Real life....I have a toddler [this should be a tv show].

On to Saturday..... Friday was full of cleaning the house, laundry, hair cut for J and a continued search for non-skinny jeans for a toddler.  Who knew it would be so much work?!

We met my brother and sister-in-law at the park for a picnic.  It was crazy windy, but we made the most of it!!  I packed yummy sandwiches and some treats.  And, I also yelled "WooHoo" out the window of my car as we pulled into the park..... my sister-in-law was flying a kite and I felt the urge to yell "woohoo" at her.  Unbeknownst to me, because I'm not one bit observant, a shirtless guy was jogging by simaltaneously and thought I was yelling that at him.  Awesome.

Then we headed up to the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo to watch our nephew show his pig, Turbo!  We had so much fun eating horribly wonderful food, petting baby animals and just enjoying time with Cason's sister, brother-in-law and their kiddos.  We live too far apart, so any and all time spent together is wonderful!  And yah, I don't know either... somehow this is the best photo I got of J and his cousins.  FAIL.  But how cute are they???  Jackson looks like a little man, Bailey is sporting the cutest bedazzled pig shirt in North America and Brayden is somehow a full-blow teenager and crazy tall?  Time flies!
Cason is addicted to bacon and had to try this.  It was super disgusting, as expected.... bacon cotton candy???  I mean, really.
The rodeo wore him out!  He was a trooper and napped in his stroller with all of the chaos going around.  It was Tejano Day apparently and there was mariachi music at every turn.
Seeing this sight as we left the rodeo was perhaps the highlight of our weekend.   And that's saying a lot.  Just when you think you've seen it all.  Better believe I chased him down to sneak this quick photo.
We got home, changed [because I smelled like a pig...but really] and left again to meet everyone for dinner!  We snapped this quick photo on the way out the door.  It was the best we could do, tongue sticking out and all.
Okay, I better run..... THIS has been our morning so far.  And really, it's a pretty normal morning around here!  We're out the door in a bit to finally meet Emily [of Dear Owen] and her sweet, almost one-year-old babe, Owen.
 Happy Tuesday, sweet friends!

I have a hard time finding jeans with the proper fit too! My 3 year old is lean and long but Gap's Straight Fit is perfect if you haven't tried those...not skinny, but not baggy everywhere. With Everett, at 16 months all his junk is in the trunk and I still haven't found a good fit. Frustrating!

Jackson and Everett should be climbing partners in crime, we have all the same snapshots of our kiddos climbing whatever they can. Hilarious.
